My fitness Journey, The Road Less Traveled

I am not exactly sure where my fitness journey began, but I do know it is one without a final destination. I am not a good spectator. I played every sport the school offered, but I never wanted to be on the sidelines watching the game. It became a personal challenge to me to see how far I could push myself. It was then I experienced, "The Zone." You hear athletes and other professionals talk about being in "The Zone." The Zone is a place where your mind and body are in total harmony and you feel that you are on autopilot. Everything else around you slows down, but in reality it is just a matter of seconds that seems like minutes. It really made me appreciate the human body - the harder you push it, the stronger it gets. The more you train it, the better it operates.

Living an active lifestyle requires fitness, and there is fitness in an active lifestyle. Whatever you do in life, there is a fitness level to it. You do not have to go to a gym or fitness center to workout. Most people do not have time to get to a gym, or at least, that is the excuse they use. You can workout while cleaning the house. For example, doing lunges as you vacuum the floor or doing squats as you put clothes into the dryer. It all boils down to choice and self-discipline. YOU have to make a choice to live an active lifestyle, get fit and have the self-discipline to stay fit. Remember, fitness has nothing to do with size! There are 300lb-plus linemen that can run 100 yards in 4.3secs.

I do not know where you are in your fitness journey, but I am willing to assist you in any way that I can.
